Elm 2017 - 2018

Miss Higby

Mr Beacall

Mrs Macdonald

Welcome to Elm class!

As it is the start of a new term, I thought it may be helpful to provide some information on the ways that you as a parent/guardian can help your child to reach their full potential.

Reading is a vital element in all subjects and reading books will be sent home every night. All children are expected to read at for at least 10 minutesevery night. Please listen to your child read and sign their home reading diary. They can earn dojo points if they read at home 3 times in the week.

Mathematics: In order to fully develop your child’s mathematical understanding they need to know their times tables up to 12x12. For example 5x6=30 and30÷6=5. It would help your child enormously if you could help them at home on a regular basis.

P.E: P.E is a compulsory subject and children are expected to bring the correct kit in on the appropriate day. If it is easier kits may be left in school and taken home at the end of each half term as PE can often change due to the hall timetable. Please remember to remove any earrings.

Finally, if you have any concerns about your child, please do not hesitate to contact Miss Higby or Mr Beacall to discuss the matter.
