Lesson: Religious education
Class: Squirrel Year: 2017 - 2018
Today Year 2 visited a Hindu Temple on the Wirral as part of their Religious Education studies.
The Hindu building for communal worship is called Mandir (Hindu Temple). The temples are dedicated to different gods and are the focus of religious life. Outside India, people mainly gather at the Mandir at the weekend.
Worshippers repeat the names of their favourite gods, goddesses, and the mantra. Water, fruit, flowers and incence are offered to the gods.
Some of the gods are called Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Saraswathi, Lakshimi, Parvati and Ganesha.
