Orchard Area photos
The area offers lots of learning opportunities for our children, including:
Plants - Children are able to learn about the different species of plants and what those plants need to help them grow.
Seasons / weather - they learn about the different seasons, weather and the impact that changes can have on plants and the environment.
Sensory Development - Children become familiar with the colours, texture and scents of different trees, plants and flowers.
Wildlife - Children learn about different insects and wildlife in the environment and learn to respect different species.
Physical development - As children explore the area and utilise the available tools and activities, they develop both their gross and fine motor skills, control and coordination. These skills in turn support children across all areas of the Early Years curriculum
Social development - Gardening presents wonderful opportunities for children to bond and to help each other look after and nurture plants.
